Anxiety Guided Meditation

StarLight Breeze Guided Meditations

About the Meditation

Relax your body, calm your mind, and soothe your spirit with this guided meditation lecture. Practicing meditation can help with greater mental clarity, resetting, and rebalancing every system in your body. It has a profound, rich, and calming effect, promoting feelings of peace and a sense of awareness.

This guided meditation lecture for ‘Anxiety’ will allow you to ease an anxious mind. The practice begins inviting you to find harmony with the breath, shifting attention to the physical sensations of breathing. Breath awareness helps to relax the mind, slow down the nervous system, and help to achieve a sense of grounding at times of distress. By implementing gentle breath-work, it will allow you to fully immerse into relaxation and prepare the mind to digest the information beneficial to releasing any worry or stress you may be carrying.

You will then be informed about the foundational feelings of anxiety — it is a very common emotion that everybody experiences at some point in their lives. Whilst providing you with a safe and supportive atmosphere, the practice will explore the heavy impacts of anxiety. These can include excessive worrying, phobias, and repetitive unwanted habits.

Not only can anxiety be responsible for psychological concerns, but overtime it can also cause physical issues in one’s body such as muscle tightness, rapid breathing, and aches. It is important to realise if you are suffering from anxiety, and if it is becoming to stand in the way of your overall wellbeing. There is no one-time cure for anxiety, however, there are ways you can learn to lessen emotions associated with fear and stress.

This meditation will further guide you to a visualisation practice by imagining a glowing orb of blue light — a healing energy — helping you to relax further and release any anxious thoughts that may be present. The colour of blue has a tremendously peaceful, calm, and gentle power to manage anxiety and stress. It is an extremely soothing tone, helping you to silence your mind as it embodies feelings of calmness and serenity. Visualising the blue light will allow you to slow down your heart rate, lower your blood pressure and reduce feelings of anxiety.

Blue is also the colour of sky, ocean, sleep, and twilight which are all very tranquil and relaxing connotations to sincerity, inspiration, and spirituality. By following this visualisation practice, you will become less nervous and more comfortable within your space.

Anxiety can be very challenging. This practice has been created in a way that whatever the reason you may be experiencing feelings of worry or stress, you are more than welcome to listen to this meditation in your own time, allowing these heavy emotions to dissipate completely.

For best results, it is recommended to practice meditation daily. Regular practice can help to reduce everyday anxiety and stress, improve your sleep, energise your body and mood, and ultimately improve your overall health and wellbeing. So breathe in, and may you find stillness within.

The Guided Meditation

Welcome to StarLight Breeze meditations … Today, we will focus on anxiety … May you find an upright, seated position … Somewhere in a quiet place, where you won’t be disturbed … Make sure your back, neck, and head is in a straight alignment, but not too tight … Be gentle with the body … Bringing attention to the hands, and placing them softly on your lap … Close your eyes … And now … Take a long, deep breath in … And a long, deep breath out … Maintaining this gentle awareness on the breath … Beginning to slowly fall into a place of comfort … Stillness … And peace … Inviting mindfulness into each present moment … Take another long breath in … And a long breath out …

Experience the breath as a whole breath in the entire body … The way your belly and chest rises … And then falls back down again, when you release the air out from your lungs … The breath is relaxing you … Soothing you … Releasing any tension … Any worry … Holding onto nothing but the breath … With love and compassion … Giving yourself permission to be completely present … And if at any point your mind becomes distracted … That’s okay … Gently acknowledge that your thoughts have strayed, and return your attention to the breath …

Allowing your breath to return to the natural rhythm now … Steady … Relaxed … Everyone experiences anxiety in their life … It is a natural, powerful, and primitive human emotion … Fear can manifest in many different ways — phobias or repetitive unwanted habits … Feeling worried, tense, and stressed for reasons sometimes unknown at all … Some other symptoms of anxiety can include tightness in the muscles, shallow and rapid breathing, and even shaking … Anxiety can take a heavy toll …

Negative thinking patterns can be very distracting … I invite you to shift your attention inwards … To what you are feeling in this moment … If there are any emotions present that you can recognise … Noticing how you are feeling physically … Without trying to change anything … Simply being aware of the sensations in the body … You may even experience pain as a form of anxiety … Your muscles can become painful, tired, and cramped as a result of stress … Give yourself the permission to relax even deeper now … Drop your shoulders … Allow them to become limp as you increase the distance between your shoulders and your ears … Loosen your jaw so your teeth are not touching … Let it become relaxed and loose … Breathing gently … Releasing any tension … Any stress …

And now … Begin to visualise yourself surrounded by a glowing orb of blue light … This light is very soft … Just like clear skies on a warm summer’s day … And on your next inhale, imagine breathing in the blue light and allow it to fill your whole head … This light is healing … Filling you with positive energies … And as you breathe out, imagine tension and anxiety leaving your body as black smoke … It dissolves completely into the light surrounding you …

Continue to breathe … Allowing the blue light to slowly fill your entire upper body now … Your neck … Your shoulders … Your arms and your belly … You are beginning to feel more relaxed … At ease … And breathing out, allowing anxiety to disappear … It is leaving your body now … Continue to breathe here … Allowing the blue light to fill your entire lower body now … Your pelvis … Your legs … Your feet … This light is so delicate … Making you feel safe and protected … The colour of oceans and skies …

The colour of expansion and freedom … You are breathing out doubt … Dread … Exhaustion … You are letting go uncertainty … Uneasiness … Panic … And now … Allowing for this blue light to fill your entire body now … Your entire being is clear … Crystal blue … Shining … Beaming … Freeing you of any worry … Stress … Anxiety … You are pure … Your heart is relaxed … Your whole body at peace … Imagine tension draining out of your finger tips … Out of your toes … Be still … Breathing in … And breathing out …

On every inhale … Say to yourself …

I am becoming more and more calm …

And on every exhale, say to yourself …

I am feeling more and more relaxed …

Breathing gently … Peacefully … Everything is well in this moment … There is an endless pool of peace, harmony, and calmness … You are safe and secure … Centred … Breathing in … And breathing out …

And as this practice comes to an end … Take one last deep breath in … And release … Bringing your attention to the body … Beginning to make small movements … And then

larger ones … Stretching easily … Awakening your physical self … Feeling very relaxed … Maintaining soft breaths … Noticing the calmness in the breath … The evenness of the breath … Each inhale and exhale … Welcome back the world around you …

And when you are ready, open your eyes … And remember … Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself in complete peace … We hope you enjoyed this meditation practice by StarLight Breeze, and may you have a wonderful day.
